The Observatory – Olives

The Observatory is an indie space rock and electronica band based in Singapore consisting of alumni from significant 1990s Singaporean bands. Merging poignant songwriting, traditional instruments and laptop electronica experiments, their layered sound is at once refreshing and progressive.

The brief was simply to explore the general idea of the song, Olives, that life goes on. And to play and experiment to produce an intriguing video. Taking the handwritten sheets of lyrics from their singer, Leslie, we created an intense typographic journey designed to pull viewers into the pounding, quivering realm of Olives.
