木头 | Blockheads
30LifeStories Remembering Parks, a highlight of SingaPlural 2014 and an anchor event of the Singapore Design Week, enables Singaporeans to recapture memories of times spent in our many parks and gardens.
30 Singapore designers and artists were invited to transform pruned tree logs salvaged and collected from our garden city into creative park installations.
We selected 2 kinds of khaya and rain tree logs for their contrasting tones of yellow and red, and created a series of stools that brings back silly fun to our parks. Affectionately named mutou or Blockheads, the series of heads seeks children to skip and step all over them.
The event took place from 12 to 16 March 2014 at Dhoby Ghaut Green in Singapore. Our beloved mutou have since found a permanent spot at The Foothills, Fort Canning Park.
