Gibson X fFurious Les Paul Guitar

In celebration of the film, Control, about the band Joy Division, Gibson invited four creative studios in Singapore to each customise a classic Les Paul guitar.

Our design was inspired by one of the songs, Shadowplay, which spouted the lyrics, To the centre of the city where all roads meet, waiting for you… In a room without window in the corner I found truth…. In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no more.

Joy Division was formed in the late 70s amidst all these grey monotonous architecture in post-industrial Manchester, which the illustration took off from.

The customised guitar was auctioned in aid of the charity, Samaritans of Singapore.
