Asymptote

An asymptote is is the curve of line in a mathematical graph that approaches zero but never reach. Described as a “international journal dedicated to literary translation”, Aysmptote’s logo is a combination of 4 different asymptotes of different sizes, symbolizing different authors and works from different countries converging together, into an abstract shape of an inkblot. The colours are kept basic, in black and white, like ink on paper.

One of the most technically ambitious yet visually elegant websites that we designed, the online literary journal Asymptote features multiple language translations, different colour systems defined each issue, there are poems with audio recordings and a section for visual art. There are now articles in over 50 languages, contributed by more than 500 authors, translators, reviewers, interviewers, photographers, illustrators and artists.
