Medusa

A client requested an illustration of Medusa as a tattoo, but he lacked specific preferences. Consequently, we initiated a research process to develop a mood board that explored diverse art styles for both Medusa’s head and the snakes.

Considering Medusa’s origins in Greek mythology, one proposed direction was a classic Greek art style. To provide a broader creative spectrum, abstract and graphic comic styles were also incorporated.

The graphic comic art style, combined with a dynamic 45° angle of Medusa’s head, was selected. Three red roses were strategically placed among the snakes, symbolising the duality of beauty and danger, or love and temptation.
